2.- MANUFACTURING IN OUR WOKSHOP

The techniques that you use in the workshop are not the same that humans use in the real life. Tools are also differents. In this table I have described the tasks, the materials and tools more common in the workshop.

PAPER & PAPERBOARD WOOD METALLIC PLASTIC
MEASURE RULER
DRAW RULER &SQUARE
MARKING PENCIL PUNCH
CLAMPING CLAMP & BAR CLAMP
CUTTING SCISSORS & CUTTER SAW BOW SAW CUTTER
DRILLING AUGER & PUNCH
AJUSTING FILE RASP SANDPAPER
JOINING GLUE GUN
FINISHING BRUSHES

ACTIVITIES

1.- Name the tools that you can see in this picture.

2.- Which is the main task for each tool?

3.- What is this?  What is its main objetive? Can you describe how it works?

1.- MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Technology creates new devices and tools. This process needs raw materials to be tranformed into this new devices, and also needs energy (inputs). The result (outputs) are products and rubish that, sometimes, can be recycling. This video shows the technics to give shape to the parts of the objects, joint method and finishing.

ACTIVITIES

1.- Describe the process to join wood using a hammer and nails.

2.- What is a dovetail? When must you use it? Do you Know similar technics of join?

3.- What are the differences between TIG, MIG and MAG?

3.- COMPONENTS

The main objetive of a circuit is the conversion of the electricity into other types of energy. However the control of the circuit is also very important. In this video I have sumarized the most important about the common parts of the circuits for this level.

ACTIVITIES

1.- Design circuits with motors and bulbs and different types of switches.

2.- Do a search on the Internet and with it, make a poster about one electric component
(batteries, motors, fuses, lamps, etc...)

1.- INTRODUCTION

Electricity is very useful in our daily life. We use so many devices that need this type of energy. In this video, the basic contents of electricity are shown and also the basic of circuits.

ACTIVITIES

1.- Do a table with the most important electrical magnitude, its symbol, its units and its unit symbol.

2.- Draw a circuit with 2 bulbs in serie and in paralle. Analyze the differences.

3.- Can you conect 2 batteries in paralle?. Why?

4.- How must you conect 2 batteries in serie? Why?

5.- If you have a battery of 5V and a lamp with a resistance of 1 K,

a) Draw the circuit
b) Calculate the current
